Junk Email after Server Melt Down

Hi all

Yesterday, we had a server melt down which meant restoring much of exchange
from tape.
Since then, messages which would previously have diverted to the Junk Email
folder are appearing in my inbox.
I believe that Outlook was applying its own rules to determine Junk content.
I also seem to remember that Outlook gradually "learnt" what was Junk and
became gradually more effective.
Current email stats are around 100 messages a day, 90 of which are Junk, so
the filter, which proved very accurate/effective was a successful tool.

I have investigated settings etc but cannot see that the Junk mail filter
has been turned off anywhere.
Does anyone know where to look to get this working again?

TIA

Sorry, should have mentioned Outlook2003, ExchangeServer2003, Windows
Server2003.

Outlook does use it's own junk filter - is it set on high? It only works
with cached mode though - which shouldn't be a problem as it's the default
and you wouldn't need a new profile.

Outlook doesn't learn - MS updates the junk filter dat file every couple of
months. Exchange 2003 supports IMF - is that still enabled on the server?

Diane

Thanks for response.
The problem appears to have been something to do with cached mode.
I had checked to make sure that was still active previously.
I disabled cached mode, closed and re-opened Outlook, re-enabled cached mode
and everything appears back to normal.
Looks like the temporary loss of exchange also screwed up some user
settings. Apparently some short cuts to folders have also been lost by
other users.

shortcuts *shouldn't* be lost, but if the folders they pointed to
temporarily disappeared, it will screw up the shortcuts.
