hi,

i'm having an issue with my junk email folder. every email in the
folder is labeled under a certain category, school, which i created
but did not intend for junk mail. even messages that are junk mail
that first appear in my inbox not assigned a category are categorized
once i move them to the junk folder. is there a way to fix this?

thanks,
amanda

The most likely culprit is the Mailing List Manager (MLM). It's very easy to
set up a MLM rule by accident, when you are marking a message as 'not junk'.
The wording of that dialog is ambiguous to say the least. Check if there is
an MLM entry (look for MLM entries under the Tools menu) with the incorrect
destination folder as the target folder and category set to school. Mailing
List Manager rules run before your other rules.

It sounds like perhaps the Junk category got renamed accidentally. Go to
Edit > Categories > Edit Categories, and double click the word "School".
Rename the category "Junk", and then add a new category to be named
"School". See if that fixes the problem.
