Junk Email Filter KB959141 - HELP!!!

Jimmy

Greetings,

I'm having a terrible time lately with my Dell. I'm receiving a stop
error every time I try to install an update for Microsoft Office Outlook 07
Junk Email Filter (KB959141). Other updates have been successful - My
computer seems unstable and from the research I've done I'm thinking it might
be a problem with my CPU memory. But that's why I'm turning to the public to
get a better idea of what's going on with my computer.

When I try to install the Update - Starts to create backup - Then when it
attempts to install the update the Blue Screen of Death pops up.

If I don't run the update I can use my computer normally. I fear that
future updates (More critical) may do the same.

INFO:

I'm running Vista Ultimate on a Dell Inspiron 1721

Version 6.0.6001 Service Pack 1 Build 6001

Processor - AMD Turion 64x2 Mobile Technology TL -60, 2000 Mhz, 2 core(s), 2

Physical Memory (RAM) - 2.00 GB

Total Physical Memory - 1.87 GB

Available Physical Memory - 920 MB

Total Virutal Memroy - 2.97 GB

Available Virtual Memory - 2.17 GB

The Error is: STOP: 0x0000008E (0xc0000005, 0x805e8c7c, 0x95091754,
0x00000000)

When I check problem Reports and Solutions I see there about 11 of the same
problem - AVP - Service Hang Report (More detail below)

Problem Event Name - Service Hang

Service Name - AVP

Image Name - avp.exe"-r

Image Version - 0.0.0.0

Service Type: 10

Start type: 2

OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.2561

Local ID: 1033

-----I'm using Kaspersky Anti-Virus-----Version 8.0.0.506-----

Event Viewer shows following:

Level =Critical

Date & Time = 1/23/2009 11:56:16AM

Source = Diagnostics - Performance

Event ID = 100

Task Category = Boot Performance Monitoring

Other info: I had a virus prior to purchasing Kaspersky - I was using
Norton Internet Security 09, my subscription ran out and then I purchased
Kaspersky - Kapersky found 4 trojan viruses and eliminated them.

Current Status = Computer is protected (no viruses).

Please help!

Peter,
The stop error that I posted is exactly how it came up on the Blue
Screen. I do not receive any other additional information on the blue
screen.

Here is the Entire Blue Screen (From my most recent encounter):

A Problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage
to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your
computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driver is identified in
the stop message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for
driver updates. Try changing video adapters.

Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates. Disable BIOS memory
options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove
or disable components, restart your computer, press F* to select Advanced
Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

Technical information:

*** STOP: 0x0000008E (0xc0000005, 0x805DAC7C, 0XA54F174, 0X00000000)

PLEASE HELP....

The Stop error and blue screen has nothing to do with the Office OL Junk filter that
you are trying to install.
It has to do with your OS. Correct the issue first and then try and install the
Outlook Update

There you go. Stop 0x0000008E.

0x0000008E: KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
(Click to consult the online MSDN article.)
A kernel mode program generated an exception which the error handler didn’t catch.
These are nearly always hardware compatibility issues (which sometimes means a
driver issue or a need for a BIOS upgrade).
