junk email folder disappeared

Suddenly my junk email folder has disappeared from the lefthand side of
Outlook. Everything else is there, but on junk email folder.
Also, every now and again, before the folder disappeared, suddenly all my
legitimate emails from people I correspond with on a daily basis started
going straight into my junk mail box ... I had to resort to putting their
addresses on the approved list, but I wonder why suddenly it started doing
that.
I have "repaired" Outlook using the CD, but no difference.

Check your pst-file for errors with scanpst.exe and start Outlook with the
/resetfolders switch.
