Junk Email Full and will not respond

Hello over the last few days my Junk Mail folder has been filled with
hundreds of thousands of emails. It shows almost 500,000 emails. When I came
in to work today outlook was froze and would not respond. I finally got
outlook to come back up and it is working ok except when I click on the junk
mail folder it says "unable to display folder" I have tried to right click
the folder and click empty the junk mail folder and that gives me the error:
operation failed. Is there another way to clear this folder so my folder size
and outlook.ost file will get smaller?
