Junk email in Entourage

I'm constantly getting JUNK email sent to my account BUT it's not even
the correct email address. How on earth are there emails being sent to
my address when it's not even the correct address???? I've already
gone into my Junk Email prefs, BUT that does not seem to help one bit.
My email is (e-mail address removed) but I'm getting junk sent to me to
(e-mail address removed)???

Pleaes help!!!!

First of all, you can cut down on the volume of Junk Email if you quit
posting your addy in newsgroups and wherever else on the web you might
happen to wander. There is probably more on route to your correct addy
already.

Secondly, the matter of "not even the correct address" is somthing that
needs to be taken up with your ISP - It has nothing to do with Entourage or
any other email client. No matter how cleverly you design Rules & custom
spam filters, a certain amount will get through, but your client can't d/l
it unless it's in the mailbox in the first place.

Spammers frequently send emails to dozens to hundreds of addresses in
the same message, using the BCC field. There are tons of other ways to
get spam to you.

If you only want to receive messages that are addressed to your address
(i.e., if you're willing to junk messages in which your address is CC'd
or BCC'd), set up a rule

If
Any recipient does not contain <your address>

Then
Move message Junk Email

FWIW newsgroup posts are frequently harvested for email addresses.
Posting your real address, as you did, will likely increase the number
of spams you receive. I post my real address, and get upwards of 2000
spams a day, though my mail server and SpamSieve send all but a few to
the junk bucket.

Here is how to create a nospam address for newsgroups. Note however, that
once your address is on the "spam list" there is no way to remove it. If
your junk mail is numbering in the hundreds a day, if possible, you should
consider getting a new address and use it with caution.
