Why: you posted your real email address.
Stopping: You can't

The Swen virus is not only gathering addresses to send
itself to via the address book but also searches NG messages
for email addresses. Even before this spammers were getting
addresses the same way. You will notice that most people
don't put their email addresses out in a correct format,
they will fudge it up a little bit so that an actual human
would have to read the address and use common sense to
figure it out. This is what I would do.

You cannot do anything to stop the emails to you, but you
may be able to filter them out. I use OE to read the
account that I get these messages on, and I set up a mail
rule that had been able to filter them out. I created a new
folder called trap and then I set up a rule which takes all
messages not addressed to me and puts them in that 'trap'
folder. This has caught 100% of these emails and has also
caught some other Spam.

Procedure:
Tools >Message Rules >Mail >New

Conditions: "Where the to line contains people" , put in
your email address and choose >Options >Does not contain"
Action: "Move to specified folder" and set it to the 'trap'
filter

You could change the action to delete the email from the
server without downloading it. I don't use this just in
case thee is a real email in there somwehere. Hasn't
happened yet
