All my junk mail is coming into my in-box. All the settings for junk mail to
go into the junk mail folder are correct but nothing is going into the junk
mail folder. I'm getting hundreds of junk mail into my in box EVERY DAY and I
don't know what to do to get the junk mail folder to work again!! Thanks for
any help.......

Version of Outlook?
Type of Email Server?
When is the last time it worked?
Anything known to have changed aside from the fact Junk Email doesn't seem
to be working now?

thanks for responding...I have outlook version 2003. e-mail server type:
POP/SMPT. It worked a couple weeks ago but we recently had a NEW server
installed and since then there have been some problems but my junk mail WAS
working since it's been installed and nothing out of the ordinary has
occurred since then to make it just stop working. Someone told me that I
probably will have to establish a WHOLE new account and just abandon this one
but that certainly seems rather radical and I'd prefer not to have to go
through all of that if I can avoid it.

I'm having the same problem using Vista with Outlook 2003. It seems to have
occurred the same time that MS distributed an auto update to Vista the night
before I noticed the problem. At this point I can't tell if my problem is
unique to my PC Vista SP1 using Outlook 2003 or is just a coincidence.

What's on your Safe Recipients list in Outlook?

Thanks....I am SURE that I had updates as well since it seems that MS is
updated every 5 minutes these days. Perhaps you are correct and it is NOT a
coincidence but something got messed up as a result of the update. I'm pretty
frustrated, if I see ONE MORE VIAGRA advertisement in my in box, I'm going to
lose it!!! :)

I am also having the same problem. Running 2003 outlook on a vista home os.
Read on other boards it is a wide spread problem. No acknowledgement of an
issue from MS or solution.

the people that I normally send e-mail to on a regular basis are on my safe
sender list including myself. I just tried unchecking the box that indicated
to ALWAYS trust messages from the people on my safe list and I also tried
unchecking 'automatically add people I e-mail to the safe sender list' just
to see if that might make a difference.

I read in another post that if you try uninstalling the update it might help
your problem...

Hey Everyone....it seems I was able to solve the problem based on what I read
in someone else's thread. I went into ADD/REMOVE programs and checked on the
latest updates from outlook and there was an update for the JUNK MAIL FILTER
on 9/11/08. I REMOVED that update and now my junk mail folder is working
again. Apparently there was something in that update that was just not
allowing anything to go into my junk mail folder. So I HOPE that this might
help some others as well with the same problem! Good luck and thanks to all
of you that responded.

Right, what's on your Safe _Recipients_ list? Outlook 2003 and prior let
you put your own email address on safe recipients. Since all mail addressed
to a safe recipient is not spam, and most actual spam is addressed to you,
that effectively lets in most actual spam.

That's why I asked 'What's on your Safe Recipients list in Outlook?'
