Hello
i use outlook 2007 with exchange 2003. My question is, where i can
find the black- or whitelist of outlook 2007 and how this list work?
is the list on the localhost or is it stored on the exchange server?
Can i edit this list manually? Does the list "learn" when i mark a
mail as a junkmail?

thanks Michael

Hello again,
a second question to the term above:
if one user marks a mail as a junkmail, does the blacklist mark this
mail for all users as a junk mail or just for the one which made the
decision?

The "whitelist" and "blacklist" are called "Safe Senders", "Safe Recipients"
and "Blocked Senders". You can find them with Actions>Junk E-mail>Junk
E-mail Options. The are simply addresses or domains you want Outlook to
never junk or always junk. A message coming from any specific address or
address containing a domain in the Bliocked Senders list will always be
flagged as junk. Amy message sent to a specific address or address
containing a domain in either safe list will be delivered. The safe lists
override the blocked list. The Safe Recipients list is for mailing list
addresses.

I believe it's stored as a hidden message in your Mailbox (or PST, depending
on the delivery location and account type).
Can i edit this list manually?

You can add addresses or domains to any of the three lists using the menu
choices I described.

In what way to you mean this? While Outlook uses a bayesian filter, that
filter is not user-trainable. Each month, Microsoft issues updates to the
bayesian filter based on feedback received from several sources, primarily
Windows Live Mail (Hotmail). You can, of course, add addresses to the three
lists, but that's not the same as "marking a mail as junkmail", as far as
I'm concerned. That's marking an address as safe or blocked.

Hello Mr. Tillman,

thank for the quick and exact answers.
