Hello everybody,
This is just to give feedback. I also had the problem that Office 2007
Enterprise SP1 failed on a Vista x64 computer (german language) with error
78F. On this machine, it was not neccessary to uninstall and reinstall
Office from scratch. The tip told from the Microsoft support team that we
should insert the CD/DVD from which Office 2007 once was installed did the
trick. At least for me, that solved the problem. Thanks for the tips.
May be this issue occurs on every machine where Office hotfixes were
installed (via WSUS, for example)? And then, I guess SP1 setup should be
enhanced a bit to handle this situation in a fully automatable way (what for
do we have WSUS, anyway?).
Best Regards,
Stefan Falk
