Just bought a Macbook for my son

Everything is going well for my son. He is using Office Test drive and
we've moved to Dubai from the UK. Isn't there anyway to just
legitimise the Office software by paying online for the Student teacher
version of Office and letting him carry on using his Mac?

There arent that many local Mac shops which carry the Offie suite for
the Mac?

ps. His old laptop was a PC that has an 'archive' .pst file from
Outlook. how can he bring it in to Entourage?

Do you mean 'legitimise the Test Drive version'?

If so, the answer is no, there is no way to do that.

If you can't get to an apple software retailer, can you buy on-line through
Amazon etc?

No, there is no way to "Legitimise" the Test Drive.

In is VERY IMPORTANT to you that you follow the instructions on the website
about running the Remove Office tool before installing the paid-for version.
If you do not do this exactly correctly, you will have a nasty time sorting
it out.

To move mail from a .pst to Entourage, first install the paid-for version of
Entourage and make sure it is operating correctly, then see here:
