Is it possible to creat a word table and have some of the columns or rows be
numberic?

If you mean that anything typed into those columns or rows will be formatted
in a specific numerical format, the answer is no. If you need that, use
Excel instead.

But you can set up a Heading style with the numeric format you want, then
apply it to the column(s) in the table. That works fine.
