I have been having problems with my Outlook recently. I clicked on the send
error report and it sent me to the Office update page. I have never
apparently installed the updates. e.g. SP 2 or 3 etc, I should mention that
this is a semi new computer designed to replace the old clunker. That is why
those basic patches have never been done.
It asked to pick the option of do you have disk or the other one. The other
one showed that it was faster and better if you had a fast Internet
connection. It downloads everything. It takes over an hour. It downloads
and tries to install. It asks if I have disk. I fumble around to find out
and get disk in the hard drive. I type in the cereal number and it says I
have an invalid serial number.
I can't even get access to my Outlook. I keep a record of my serial numbers
in Outlook. I believe I have my right serial number and its my wife
liscensed copy. Like a lot of tech people I keep my list under Outlook and
all my CDs in a disk holder. If I could access I would make sure. I go to
the old clunker and look to see if I can get the serial number.
One thing I noticed is that it is saying insert code for Office 2003. My
copy says Office XP. That is also what it says on the other computer that it
is Office XP. Is this why it is not working.
Please help. I'm not even sure I can get email now. To let me know someone
responded.
