Just Spoke to Microsoft about Toolbar issue

I just spoke to a Microsoft tech - with heavy Indian accent -- and he said
that while in Word, I get to keep my old customized toolbars because in Word
that it all controlled by normal template.

But in Excel, my customized toolbars are gone forever and need to be
manually remade in 2004. Now before I do all this, I want to make sure with
the Excel Gods here that this is true.

Hi Kevs.

I disagree with the MS Tech somewhat.

Les say you have several customized toolbars in Excel. Use Tools>Customize
and click the "Attach" button in the customize dialog box.
You can attach your customized toolbars to a document. When you save the
document the toolbars stay with that document.

Open that document in another version of Excel or on a different computer
and your customized toolbars will be available.

Well actually I was able, so far, to get my toolbars back using Dayo's idea
(from thread, "need toolbars back") of clicking on my old toolbar preference
in the pref. folder. I sticking with this toolbar as it was not custom one.

But if I even made a new one, I going to go the custom route, although I've
never done it before.

Isn't there something equivalent to saving a document as BOOK.XLT in the
XLSTART folder in Windows?
All settings in this BOOK template will be used when opening a new workbook.

Yes. Save it as "Workbook" (without the ".xls" extension) in the
"/Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Office/Startup" folder.
