My earlier message was answered by me, but when I went back later for a third time, just to mark the question as answered, there was suddenly a new reply under my name, consisting of nothing but apparent links to porn sites. So I am trying to see if the same thing happens again if I do the same things again. I didn't notice a way to delete one's own questions here, or I'd do that after I'm done.

All right, I was wanting to click that my question had been answered. I thought there was a check-box to that effect, but maybe I'm misremembering and there was only the question "does this answer the question?", as a clickable link.

But when I'm signed in, "Does this answer the question" does not appear anymore.

When I sign out, it's there again. If I click on it, I get the signing-in dialog, after which I'm signed in and it's gone.

Administrators-- I think there's a little problem!

All right, again. When I tried to enter a second reply to my "question," there was suddenly a check-box next to the first reply. So I checked it and clicked "Publish," which was what brought on a reply full of spam the first time. But instead, I got the warning that the text box was empty. So I wanted to try this again; I closed the window and went back to this page in another window, and see that the "this answered the question" box is actually checked, even though I never clicked "publish" after checking it. Anyway, no spam showed up, so I'm going to let this whole experiment go.

Hi Paul;

I appreciate all the trouble you're going to & the various problems with the
site, but I'm afraid nobody here has anything to do with it. We're just
users trying to help other users. You might report your findings using the
Contact Us link or the Web Feedback link at the bottom of the site pages. (I
assume you are talking about Mactopia?) In fact, MS doesn't even manage the
site - it's handled by a contractual agency which truly needs to be fired.

Hi, Bob

I just needed to post these posts to see if I could figure out what was going on; I understand that nobody reading them would have anything to do with what I was complaining about. Thanks for the advice, I had decided I was finished with all of this (the spam doesn't appear to be originating from my computer), but I think I will send Web Feedback a link to my couple of threads here.
