Justify lines after changing from PDF 2 columns to word one colum

need more shortcuts

I've copied sections of text from a 2-column PDF file and pasted them into
word. I want the word document to now read as a 1 column document. So I've
"selected all "and clicked "1 column", and then also "selected all" and
clicked "justify", but the lines haven't justified properly and I have to
backspace the beginning of line 2 to get it to fill in the end of line 1, etc
- there must be an easy way to get it to justify properly?
