KB887978 Causes Word 2002 to Fail

Word 2002 works fine until I install KB887978, then it won't start without
encountering the problem. Other Office products work fine. I have reinstalled
Windows XP and Office XP Professional, but the problem remains. Anybody got a
clue?

Call Microsoft for assistance. Calls regarding Bugs with HotFixes are FOC.

After 3-1/2 hours on phone trying many things, we searched for a file
imts4off.dll. That file was in the Word 2002 error message. I found the file
in my Immersion directory. That software provides vibration for my Logitech
iFeel mouse. After uninstalling the Immersion software, Word 2002 runs
correctly.
