We have a desktop with Office 2007 that I am using for purposes of evaluating
compatibility of our Office 2000 applications before we roll it out
office-wide. Someone wants to install an application that they have been
told by the vendor works on Office 2000 and 2003, but not under 2007.
However the results of running the application are generated in Excel and
with Excel 2000, the row capacity is too limited, which is why they want to
try it in Office 2007. So they want to try and install it on the Office
2007 test machine.
In the process of installing this, I notice it wants to install "KB908002".
I don't know what that is (googling really didn't tell me much that I
understood), and I am a little concerned about installing anything that will
overwrite any Office 2007 components, negating the purpose of our testing.
Is there any cause for concern of this happening? Do those of you that know
about this see any danger in installing KB908002 to an Office 2007 machine?
TIA
