I am running Windows Vista Home Premium and Office 2003 Service Pack 3, and a
dual core dell xps with 2 GB of physical memory. Due to hurricane Katrina, I
do not have the orignal installation disks.
When trying to install these updates, I get an installation failure message,
code 57A.
Further, and probably related, if I try to "detect and repair" the
installation of Office 2003, I get a 1402 error and the statement that
install does not have permission to open the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{CC2C83A6-9BE4-11D0-98E7-00C04FC2CAF5}\SingleChangeHook
When I go to the key I cannot access the key or change the permissions.
Further, outlook gives an error fxsext.dll cannot be loaded. I recognize
that 1402 and 57A are the same error.
Does anyone have any suggestions for solving this group of problems?
