KB951476 failed to install

I have been unable to install the update KB951476. I first tried to use the
automatic update function--to no avail, and then downloaded the file
office2003-KB951476-FullFile-ENU.exe and tried to install from that. No
success. Any suggestions--short of re-installing Windows XP Pro? This is
the sixth time I've had difficulty with the Junk Email Filter file update.
However, up till now I've been able to at least install the update manually.
What gives?

Please don't even consider an operating system reinstall for a totally
unrelated software problem. You should not worry about Junk Mail filter
updates anyway. The only updates you should be concerned about are Critical
Security updates. Read this:

This update seems to be for SP2. You should already have SP3.

Thanks, Mary. It has just become annoying in wasting my time attempting to
install a file that should go easily. Especially one that doesn't really
matter that much. Is there any way to turn off the update notice for a
specific file update, i.e., the KB951476 update? If so, I will just ignore
this one and forget about it.

What is the error code you are getting for the failed install?
