KB981715 for 2007 offered, I run 2003!

The above update arrived with a whole heap of others for 2003.
I've checked the info link but this just confirms this is for all flavours
of Office 2007.
My 6 yr old Laptop only has ver2003 with the compatibility pack to enable
reading of .docx files...maybe this is the reason I received it but before
allocating valuable real estate on my HDD, I need actual confirmation that it
is necessary for my machine!
Can anyone shed any light??

Just mark the update as Ignore. This update is because you probably downloaded and
installed a converter for (example) .doc to .docx or vica versa

Thanks Peter but that's what I had deduced might be the case.
What I would like is confirmation or otherwise that the compatibility pack I
have installed requires this update.
I'm surprised that Microsoft do not make this clear in their info link for
this update.
