Keep getting "not responding"

Hi. I am running word in XP and for the past week
everytime I open, I get the Not responding message.
Sometimes it will let me reopen and other times not. I
have downloaded all critical updates. I have gone
wireless in the past week and don't know if they are
related. Kim
