Keep loosing my SideNotes Icon

Several times a week I seem to loose (not just hidden) my SideNote icon in
the system tray. It is set to always be visable. It is easy enough to get it
back by opening OneNote, gong to Option\Other and unchecking the checkbox for
showing the icon in the tray, closing Options then reopen and recheck the
checkbox.

This puts it back in the tray and all goes along fine, sometimes for days
before it happens again although its happened at least three times this
weekend. Any ideas what may be causing this?

How about other icons in the TaskTray (icon tray)?
Is it only ON which magically disappears?
I take the liberty to doubt the latter.

I assume that it would not be a a "just ON" problem. the TaskTray in XP
is seriously broken. It does not obey and just what it wants; sometimes
everything is there and sometimes some things are missing (be it the
energy/battery icon, move hardware or the loudspeaker symbol). From time
to time a radical cut is needed to kill the bloated key in the registry
so that the entries there get written anew. I put together a recipe with
using a REG-file for doing so.

Thanks again for your input. To the best of my knowledge the SideNote icon
is the only one that mysteriously dissappears at random. I haven't noted any
others but will pay closer attention to see if that is the case.

As said, disappearing icons are a"known problem" XP.
Watch out for it. I could let you have my recipe.
