Keep meeting on calendar after declining invite

Is there a way to keep the meeting on your calendar after you decline
an invite. I still want to know when the meeting is just in case I
will be able to make it. I don't want to use the 'tentative' option to
give myself a maybe on attending.

I'm using MS Outlook 2003.

you'll need to use tentative or make a new appointment for it. declined
meetings won't be on your calendar because they aren't your meetings once
declined.
