Keep Messages in Outlook 2003 as UNREAD even after Opening...

Is there a way to keep msg's UNREAD even after Opening them?

I have a Client that is an Owner of the Mailbox, and his Assistant is the
One that really manages his Mailbox. She has FULL Proxy access to his
account. She would like his Email to say as UNREAD, even if the Member reads
his Email, but once she reads it, she wants it then to show as READ, but
only until she is read\finished...

Not sure if this can be done, but she feels, it worked in the Past on
another GOV Email system...

thanks

Uncheck all the options to mark messages as read when the selection changes and after xx seconds. Then the person can manually mark messages as read when required.

After furious head scratching, ZZMHume asked:

While viewing them in the Reading Pane, yes. By opening them and viewing
them, I don't think so.

May not be what your looking for but after reading them select them all
by clicking first one then hold down the shift and select the last one
right click and select mark as unread. If she need to pick and chose use
the control key instead of the shift key.
