Keep the Favorite Folders intact in my Outlook!

I use version 2003 (11.8010.6568) SP2.
Every now and then (at least a few times every month) my Favorite Folders
setup are spoiled by Outlook. I reselect the folders I want to display there
and after one week or so Outlook removes almost all or at least most of them
so I have to build it up again. I guess something happens at shut down of
Outlook but if no changes has been made in the Favorites Folder, could not
the latest succesful setting be used instead of "resetting" the setting?
Thx!

Don't use the suggestion features for issues.

"Forgetting" the Favorite Folders is not normal Outlook behavior so there
has to be some form of corruption on your system or an action is performed
that corrupts them. The first thing to try is to force a reset on the
Navigation Pane by starting Outlook by;
Start-> Run; "path to outlook.exe" /resetnavpane

Once you've recreated your Favorites close Outlook and make a backup of ;
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\<profilename>.xml

When your Favorites get lost you can then easily restore them but don't
forget to post back here to further troubleshoot your issue :)
