Keeping a cell or value constant in further equations

There is a simple solution but I can't remember it or find it in help. I
want to create a series of equations that read something like =A1+B1, =
A1+B2, =A1+B3. There is a simple function or notation I place around the A1
to indicate I want this cell number to stay constant when I quickly create
the other equations by dragging down the column or row..... so I do not need
to type it into each individual cell. Can someone help? Thanks!!!

There are 2 types of cell references. Absolute and relative. Relative changes
as you move. To indicate absolute referencing you use the $ sign. So for
example if you want A1 to be absolute in terms of both column and row it
would be
$A$1
For just rows
A$1
and just columns
$A1
