Hey Ladies and Gentlemen -
Recently my office has undergone a transfer of users and PCs which required
almost everyone to export the .pst to a new terminal. Once they were put on
their new computers and 'imported' their .pst into Outlook 2002 (atleast I
think the designation is Outlook 2002... whatever comes bundled with Office
XP) everything was frosty except one nuisance which turned into a long list
of complaints. Once a user has send out a few e-mails to his/her contact list
in Outlook, the program "learns" the contact name and then employs an
"autofill" function where it fills in the name and subsequently e-mail
address of a person based on what the user is typing. (For example... if you
have written John Doe [[email protected]], when you type into your "To" line,
after you enter Joh, Outlook gives you the option of automatically filling
the rest in). It seems, however, that when you export and import a .pst,
Outlook forgets this function and relearns it after the person sends an
e-mail to someone on his list. Is there any way to prevent this from
happening, that is to say, upon importing a .pst outlook retains the function
to autofill based on past use? I would greatly appreciate any help on this
matter, even if it's too late to do anything about it at this point, it would
be beneficial for such future moves. Thank you in advance.
