Keeping Column Naming!

T

TR

When re-naming a column (i.e. Text1) you can easily
change the name of your column to whatever you want by
opening the 'Column Definition' and changing the 'Title'.
As my projects are all multi-user, if someone
removes/deletes a column, when you put it back in you
loose the name.
Does anyone know how to change the field/column name and
keep the new name whatever happens.
Thanks

TR,
Probably the easiest way is by creating your own custom view. With a
custom view, whatever settings you have in the view Table will remain
with that view as long as no one messes with that view. For common users
the custom view can be a duplicate of a standard view (e.g. Gantt
Chart). If a fellow user changes the Table of the Gantt Chart, your
custom view will be unaffected. Store the custom view in your Global
(not in the common Project file) or if Project (and the common Global)
is server based, you can store the custom view in a separate dummy file
on your hard drive. That way you can always quickly restore it by using
the Organizer.

Hope the helps.

Hello TR and John,

Instead of changing the 'Title' in the 'Column Definition' dialog, I'ld
rename the field : select the field, then :
Tools / Customize / Fields / Rename...
