keeping focus under zoom in

A

Alceste

I frequently find myself zooming in on a note, only to find that after the
zoom, the item I wanted to see is off-field, and I have to look for it with
up and down, L and R
1. what is the principle of the zoom, ie, is the center, the top-left corner
kept in its place
2. I would expect the item with the focus to remain within view

Just in case, if you are unaware of the reason behind the zooming..., you
must be using the Scroll Wheel on your mouse while holding the ctrl key.

"zoom" feature keeps the left-top corner constant while zooming.
2. I would expect the item with the focus to remain within view

This is not directly possible. However, you can press any key (even arrow
keys) to adjust the view so that item with the focus remains in it.
