Keeping fonts

I am trying to email a word document to someone using a
font which they do not have installed on their PC. When
they open it all the formatting is lost. Is there a way
around this other than getting them to install the font
themselves.

If the font license permits it, you can embed the font. Be aware, though.
that this will greatly increase the file size.

I have a Swedish language Word, hope the menu names are right...

In Tools->Options, Save tab, you have an option to embed True Type fonts in
the document.

I tried it with Helvetica fonts but it did not work. I know that these fonts
are not free. Is there a work around with licensed fonts?

the workaround is to either use a similar font that allows to be
embedded (in your case, like Arial, for instance, hopefully I don't get
slain by typography people here :)), or to convert your Word document
to PDF. It will not be (sensibly) editable anymore, but if that doesn't
matter, there you go.

....any other alternative I could think of on the spot ... would most
probably be – illegal!
