Keeping Forms Private

I have a Sharepoint 2007 Forms Library.
Users can post their forms there, but I want to make it so they can't
read any postings but their own.

I have seen this in a couple of places but the explanations are too
complex.

Is it true this cannot be done Out Of the Box?

There is not an easy way to do this in SharePoint. The issues is how
SharePoint manages permissions on List Items. You can set item level
permissions only after the item is in a document lib.

If you go with Item Level permissions you would have to manually set
permissons on each item after it is submitted to the lib which is not
feasable if you have a large number of items.
