Kernel 32 caused error

Using Windows 98, Word 2002, often get the following error
message: "Kernel32 caused a general protection fault in
module KRNL386.EXE at 0001:000075a2 Registers:
EAX=fff1922f CS= etc" Freezes computer. Have to
restart. Any suggestions on how to prevent this? Thank
you.

I've had this happen when I am running an application that uses fonts and it's due to me having more than 200 fonts on my computer. I had to remove some to get past this. You might try that. HTH.
