HelloDaly
I have multiple questions here...
===Part I===
I recently purchased the 'MS Student Select Office 2003 Professional with an
Office Professional Plus 2007 license' through the vendor (e-academy.com) for
my university.
The media came with the product key for Office 2003 which will work fine but
I thought purchasing the 2007 license wouldalso give me the product key to
activate the trail version of Office 2007 that came preinstalled with Windows
Vista on my new laptop.
I have asked the vendor how I can obtain the key code for Office 2007 and
their response was that when the media for 2007 becomes available in April, I
will be able to purchase the media (the license I have already paid for) and
the license key will be included with the media.
So this sounds like I will not be able to use the full version of Office
2007 until April, when I can order the media which will then come with the
key code. Meanwhile, the number of uses I have with the trial version of
Office 2007 is dwindling.
1) I would really like to know if there is a way I can get the key code for
Office 2007 sooner than April since I already purchased the license.
===Part II===
Meanwhile, I am playing an on-line simulation game for one of my finance
classes that automatically launches in MS Excel 2007 and I only have 8 more
uses of Excel without entering the key code. I am not sure what will happen
when my uses are up--if the game will default to launching in Excel 2003 or
if I will be locked out at all which will not be funny because there are
several weeks left to go in the semester.
I tried to change the default programs and associated file types or protocol
with Excel but that didn't seem to work. It is most likely that I am doing
something wrong.
2) Is there another way to fix the association with Office 2007? I would
like everything to default to Office 2003.
===Part III===
If I can't get a key code to activate Office 2007, and changing the files
associated with Office 2003/2007 doesn't work, then...
3) can I just uninstall Office 2007 so I don't have to bother with any of
the problems mentioned above?
Then when the media along with the key code becomes available in (freakin'
bloody) April, I can purchase it and install Office 2007.
Thank you in advance for any advice or suggestions.
