Keyboard commands

I have a user who is blind and uses a program called Jaws
to listen to a discription of what's going on on the
screen. He will be attending a Word I class next week and
I need to know if there is a way for him to select text
words, lines, paragraps, entire documents without using
the mouse.

Yes. Word has a pretty extensive list of keyboard commands - under Help,
Keyboard Shortcuts.
