Keyboard does not respond in Microsoft Office Applications

For some reason the keyboard has become disabled in
Microsoft Office 2000 apps. The drivers Microsoft Natural
Keyboard driver is installed and according to Device
Manager appears to be ok. I'm running on Win98SE.
