Keyboard Issues in Office 2003?

Well I have gotten my first real weird experience with
Office 2003.

Today for no reason at all the Office 2003 decided that
in Excel, Word and PowerPoint that it will not let my
type into any text field. Also I found that it when I
attempt to type in Outlook that it is very delayed. So if
I hold down the k key for example it will take about 10
seconds for 1 k to appear and then another 10 seconds for
another one to appear. It makes it almost impossible to
type an email without opening up notepad, typing it out
and pasting it in.

I have updated my Norton Antivirus, scanned my computer 3
times already tonight. Upgraded spyware scanning and
firewall software and still nothing seems to work.

As you can see from this post that no other application
on my computer besides Office 2003 is doing this. Also I
have tried cold boot, warm boot, switching the keyboard
and all the regular no brainer things.

Any ideas or guesses as to what may be going on?

Gary:

Haven't seen this in O2K3. You might try turning off the Norton Antivirus
Office support and see what that does. NAV can from time to time cause
significant issues with Office apps when that's turned on.

Same thing happened to me after installing Microsoft 2000
4 Service Pack. Keyboard works fine in everything except
office - MS Word, Excel etc and their help files. I tried
reinstalling keyboard drivers, checked they were set to US
and US language, I uninstalled and reinstalled Office.
Still no luck !! I am using Sony P111 Notebook MS 2000 Pro
and Office XP For Small Business.
