Keyboard randomly and suddenly stops working in Excell and Word

Version: 2004
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

Both my wife and I are having the same problem on 2 different Macbooks and 2 different keyboards.
At random times the typing stops showing on the screen. To get the keyboard back we have to switch out of office and then switch back in. The keyboards never stop working in any other application.

I love some help with this!

I regularly have this problem too in Excel 2004 and Entourage 2004. Every day this happens so frequently, I have almost gotten used to it.

I used to have Tiger on a PowerPC and this never happened. The problems occur on my new Mac Pro (Intel) which came with Leopard pre-installed on it, so I don't know if the problem is Leopard-related, Rosetta-related, or both.

I too would love to hear any solutions.
