Keyboard shortcut for opening form combo boxes?

In Word XP, I have a protected form with some combo-box fields. My users
don't like their hands to leave the keyboard (legal secretaries, touch
typists, etc. etc., they prefer not to use the mouse). Is there a keystroke
combination that will allow them to open the combo box using their keyboard?
It does appear that once opened, I can use my up/down arrows in the list and
press <Enter> to select an item. But how to get the box open without my
hands leaving the keyboard, hmmm... Not really looking for a macro solution
(if there is one) as I'm not real experienced with VBA, unless maybe there's
an easy way to map a key to do it... but I can't even record a simple macro
that allows me to click on the dropdown button, just so I could maybe see the
code required. Thanks for any thoughts or info. - Lori

Try Alt+down arrow.

As a reminder, the arrow in the field's button has an underline. It's
similar to the underlined character in a menu item, which indicates that Alt
plus that character is the accelerator for the menu dropdown.

A-duh. Shame on me! Lesson learned: Don't try to overcomplicate something.
I just hit my Staples' "That was easy" button. Thank you Jay!

Well, I'm glad to read this because I thought I had tried everything.
Alt+Down was evidently the one combination I *didn't* try!
