Keyboard shortcut for Superscript / Subscript?

There are buttons on the formatting palette to create superscripts and subscripts in regular spreadsheet text entries; but there is no option in "Customize Keyboard..." to create KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS for making superscripts and subscripts, nor is it possible to create superscripts or subscripts via "Find and Replace" (as in MS Word). Does anyone know a way around this?

Thanks!

Unfortunately, no.

Neither AppleScripts nor macros will work in Edit mode, so there's no
way I know of to toggle super/subscript mode in real time other than by
using the buttons.

It certainly should be possible to write a Find/Replace utility in
AppleScript that would handle super/subscripted characters, but I would
expect it to be a non-trivial undertaking.
