Has anyone else had this problem, and does anyone have a solution: About one in five times that i use the keyboard shortcut COMMAND-V for pasting a selection from the clipboard, it does not paste the selection but instead it immediately sends the message (without having first pasted anything). As i said, it's an intermittent problem but a big hassle because it can result in an email going out before I've finished writing it. If i use the Edit menu and scroll down to "Paste," and select it... then the problem does not occur. But the shortcut is more convenient and I'd like to be able to use it safely.

You may have something else inadvertently attached to the Cmd-V
shortcut. Do you run anything that defines shortcuts? And also, check
the menu under "Entourage>Services" because often some app comes with a
service with a pre-defined shortcut. Check for any that use Cmd-V, and
(if you can) remove them.

Are you sure you're not also pressing the Return key while the command key
is down? Cmd-Return is the keyboard shortcut for Send Now.

You have some interesting ideas. I'd like to understand what you mean by "Do you run anything that defines shortcuts?" I'd do it if I knew what to do. I followed your suggestion to go to Entourage > Service, but nothing showed up with cmd-V as a shortcut. I expanded all the expandable menus but no cmd-Vs appeared.

Thanks again. Any further suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for the thought. It seems unlikely that i'd be doing that, but ya never know. I'll try to be aware of it next time.
