Keyboard shortcut to assign to project?

H

Heath

I can't figure out how to assign a keyboard shortcut to assign tasks,
etc to existing project. (Similar to the cmd-; shortcut for assigning
categories.)

Any ideas?

Thanks! Heath

See this help article for instructions on how to create your own keyboard

Basically, you should create a shortcut for Entourage with the name of the
project as the menu title (you'll see this menu item under Edit > Projects).
Then, when you re-launch Entourage, you can invoke that menu item when you
have a task or other item selected or open to assign the project. Note that
you can repeat this general process for any command accessible via the menu
bar.

There are some third party applications that you might want to check out.
See this tutorial Customize Entourage with Keyboard Maestro:

So I would have to create a separate menu shortcut for each project
that I might want to assign? I was hoping to be able to invoke a list
of them (exactly parallel to the cmd-; in categories) and choose which
project to assign it to, but I couldn't figure out how to do just that.

And Diane, I do actually have Menu Master, which is very similar to
QuickKeys, but when I select the "Edit -> Project" command (and don't
actually right-arrow into the drop down menu) and try to assign a
shortcut to that command (and not to a particular project) it doesn't
do anything.

Perhaps this is impossible - I just hate mousing if I can help it!!

thanks, Heath
