Hi All
If you assign a keyboard shortcut using a prefix, the command does not
execute if Caps Lock is on. It does not seem to matter what the KeyCategory
is e.g. macro or style etc., or if the key following the prefix is alpha or
numeric. For example both of the following assignments will fail to execute
when Caps Lock is on: Alt+P,S or Alt+S,2
I have replicated this behaviour on Word 97, Word 2000 and Word 2003, and
under NT4.0, Win2K and XP. I have connected Spy++ up to the main window,
and all of the appropriate keyboard messages are all getting through.
If you are using the keyboard shortcut dialog to assign the prefixed
sequences, the state of the Caps Lock has no affect on the assignment and
the dialog "sees" and does the correct thing...
The obvious answer of making sure that Caps Lock is turned off doesn't help
all that much as the problem is affecting quite a few users who spend quite
a lot of time with Caps Lock on.
Any suggestions would be most welcome.
Regards
Carl
