keyboard shortcuts

Hi,
Is there a keyboard shortcut to opening the main toolbar (ie File/Edit/
View/ etc)? If not, is there a way I can create one? (This is one
area that PC is way ahead of Mac!)

FWIW, I think this is one area that MacOffice is way ahead of WinOffice.
Choose Tools/Options/Customize/Customize Keyboard... Find the command
you're interested in, and assign nearly any shortcut you want.

I really dislike the way WinOffice requires you to use *its* multi-key
sequence, instead of *my* modifier/key.
