whem constructing a macro one should give the different instructions
(keystrokes) which must be executed by the macro instruction. A combination
of "shift" or "alt" plus other letters, is replaced by "%" or "^".
eg Alt+N will become "%N"
In former versions of Access these instructions were clearly listed. I can't
find them now

you don't say which version of Access you're using, but try searching Access
Help for

autokeys

that will bring up the correct topic in A2003, and possibly in prior
versions.

working with access2003
your suggestions didn't help me further on.
If you go to "autokeys" they give an example where "^p" is mentionned, which
meens the combination of "alt" + "p"
I am looking for the list which translates the "alt-key" in a "^", the
"shift-key" in.....
in Access97 I could find this, typing "keystroke" in the help search window.
