Keystrokes for Macros

Why is it that the keystrokes I assigned to my macros only
work after I run them in the current document. I can not
get them to work if I open a document and hit the assigned
keystroke. If I go to tools then macros then run macro the
macro will run. After I have done all these steps I can
then hit the key storke and it will work for the macro I
just ran. Is there anyway I can have the keystrokes always
working?

When you assigned the keystrokes, did you make sure that
it saves in the normal template? Also, it's best to
create a separate template just for these types of things
and keep it in the word startup folder, as the normal
template has a way of getting corrupt and often needs to
be recreated.
