Kill OUTLOOK.EXE completely when closing Outlook?

Todd W. Roat

Hello all. When I close Outlook, Outlook.exe remains open in the
CNTL-ALT-DEL Task Manager Processes tab. It must be performing some
sort of readiness function or being made available to some other
process.

Problem is that I have this awesome Spam Blocker (Cloudnet Spamnet
www.cloudmark.com) thats cleans the inbox of spam and logs it for
future block. The task bar Spamnet adds to outlook is launched with
outlook. However, if I launch Ouitlook after having closed it, the
toolbar is not launched on the second outlook launch. Company states
that this is because, technically, Outlook is still running in the
background. Going to Task Manager/Processes and closing the
Outlook.exe process, relaunching Outlook lets the Spamnet bar and
functionality return.

Is there an option or setting somewhere to make outlook close
completely and thoroughly when I close an instance of it?

Thanks
Todd

Try this.

In outlook 2003 goto

"Tools" "Options" "Other" "Advanced Options"
The "Add-in Manager" Button
and "Com Add-in"

Then uncheck the installed options and try shutting down the program at least
twice checking to make sure the choice is actually unchecked

Thes "add-ins" can sometimes cause the application to hang on closing.
