Label wizard for mac not working... :-( please help me!

hi (i hope this is the right place to ask),

whenever i try to open the label wizard (i'm using office 2004, with up to
date software, on a intel macbook pro) it crashes microsoft word. I really
have no idea what's going on, can anyone offer any advice?

Hi Simon -

The feature undoubtedly works, so (assuming your OS & Office are fully
updated) the first two suggestions I'd make are:

1- Make sure your printer diver is up-to-date, and
2- Run Disk Utility - Repair Disk Permissions

Restart the Mac & see how it behaves. If the problem isn't resolved come
back with a more specific description of exactly what happens & when -
"crash" means different things to different people It may also help to
have more details on how you're going about creating the labels, whether
there is *a* doc involved or if it occurs with all docs, and any helper apps
or "haxies" you may have installed.

Thanks, CyberTaz, i'll try and give you some more details;

My printer, OS and Office are fully up to date, i'll try running the disk
utility function.

Basically, every time i open up word and go into the project folder to
select the label wizard, the application quits 'unexpectedly' if i try to use
the label wizard. So this is happening before i've even managed to open a
document.

I don't have any helper applications or anything like that, but there was a
MS Word virus doing the rounds on my university's severs a while back (in the
documents macros), perhaps this has something to do with it? I assumed i
hadn't contracted it as i hadn't noticed any other problems - could you
recommend some virus software (preferably freeware) if you suspect this is
the problem?

Repairing permissions may very well correct it, but if it doesn't...

A virus could conceivably be at the bottom of it but try this first:

The Label Wizard in the Project Gallery is nothing but another route to the
regular Labels dialog. With a blank doc open go to Tools> Labels & see
whether you get the same result. If so, what specific OS X level are you
currently using? What specific update of Office?
