labels on mail merge

Please can someone help. I have followed instructions
from several sources and simply cannot get my data to
transfer (or copy) from my source to my labels. After
selecting and okaying my recipients, the labels just show
up with a blank first label and the subsequent labels
with <<next record>>. When I go to the next stage to
arrange my labels, all it does is add <<address block>>
to all the labels. I can never get any actual data.

I'm tearing my hair out. Please someone, I'm desperate.
I have people waiting for my labels.
