Labels with Word on OSX.4.8

P

Phillip Jones

I've had to rewrite my post because the Subject line obviously was too
cryptic.

My mother needed some Christmas Cards Labels.

So I purchases Avery ink jet 8162 Labels.

I went to labels from the Project Gallery > Labels.

I set everything to the Label Manager to desired font, and desired Avery
Type 8162.

Yet when I typed Labels I had to Change font at every label start.
Next when I got to the end in order to create another Page I had to save
the first batch then go back to Project Gallery > Labels and go back to
Label Manager. Again only one Page for Labels.

So it looks like I must when I get to doing a 15th –––> label I must
set up again. and at 29th and at 45th and at 63, etc.

Is this the way it supposed to be? Luckily I, only need 28.

Thanks. I'll open 1 and try,

Can I merge to two documents?
Hi Phillip -

I believe you could have simply done a Cmd+A to Select All to make a
universal font change.

Also, after typing the content for the last label on a sheet, pressing Tab
again should have generated the second page... At least that's how it works
here. But you do have to keep tabbing to generate the additional rows on
each new page.

Truth be told, however, unless I'm doing a single label or a complete page
of the same label, I find it well worth while to type the address info into
a separate doc as a table (or more likely into an XL sheet) & do a merge
rather than using Tools>Labels.

Just tried (had to switch Computers to try).

Yes Tab did start new Label Page.

No Command+A had no affect on setting a Font.

If you just type Labels then do Command+A it will change the font.

However doing so before you start, does appear to change. But, reverts
to Font listed in "Normal" in my case ITC Benguait.

Hey Taz,

I've been dealing with Mac Computers since the "fat Mac" so I know what
Command-A (or Command+A) is. :)

in normal page set up if I change fonts before typing anything the font
change sticks. in the labels when you tab to or click in another label
box it doesn't stick. Its a Bug and won't be fixed. so Long as I don't
need 500 Labels its no big deal. ;-)
If you do a merge the necessary number of pages will be created in the
merged doc (determined by the number of records in the data source & number
of labels/page).

Cmd+A is the keyboard command to Select All, then you need to make your font
change as you normally would.
